A "new" Art teacher

Upon returning to North Texas in 2008, I planned to earn my alternative teaching certificate. But with the economic downturn, I chose to put aside that plan, as jobs were few. However, it proved beneficial for me as I accepted a position as a paraprofessional in Eagle Mountain Saginaw-ISD where I had the opportunity to be a part of a team day in and day out at an elementary school. For part of that time, I worked with all ages on weekends and school breaks at the Fort Worth Museum of Science and History. As a program coach in a grant funded National Science Foundation program, I loved engaging students in the studios of the museum.
Now I look forward to building on past educational experiences with children. I am employed by Dallas ISD as one of two art teachers at Edward Titche Elementary School in Pleasant Grove.
I enjoy the support of friends and family members.  My biggest fan/friend is my husband of over 37 years, Robb.  We relocated many times during his news career and so I was home with our three children or doing volunteer work in the community or at church or in schools.  Happily for now, our daughters and son all live in North Texas.  We have a son-in-law and two grandsons.  Plus my in-laws, my parents and our siblings are a support to us as well.  And last but not least, we have our church family, some near and some far, who are a special joy to know!
